Recipe birthday buns.

I used this recipe for my girls daycare. They have a no-sugar policy, so to make the buns a bit more child-friendly and fun I added edible foodcolouring. The picture on the right is added red food colour - they were girlish pink inside:)

Recipe for soft buns.

50 g yeast
½ deciliter lukewarm water
100 g butter
1 ½ decilitre milk
edible foodcolor.
1 teaspoon salt
1 ½ tablespoons sugar
550 g plain flour

Mix yeast and lukewarm water. Melt butter over medium heat, and then mix with the cold milk. If you want to color your buns, you must add your edible food color now. Whisk until the color is completely dissolved.
Now add the remaining ingredients.
Let dough rise for 40 minutes. Divide the dough into 12 buns and let rise for 30 minutes. Bake in oven at 225 degrees Celsius.

If you wish to make the dough the day before; just substitute 50 g of yeast by 25 g and put your dough in the fridge over night.
